SDOU

Fensterman’s Wetland Complex is approximately three miles long by one half mile wide.  144 acres are Federal Waterfowl production Area, including public access at 460^th Avenue a mile north of SD42.  Area is 9 miles west of Sioux Falls.  Main lake seldom dries up. Island off public access area is about 100 feet by 50 feet and is great for gulls, pelicans, wading birds and ducks. Species count is nearing 150. West area of complex is private, but has good view from paved county road that is 459^th Avenue. The west is shallow and good for shorebirds.
